Planning a trip

When does the park open and close?

Main season (full theme park)
In 2017 the theme park season will start on the 17th March 2017 and will remain open until 31st October (excluding: 25th, 26th, April, 3rd, 9th, 10th, 16th, 17th May, 12th, 13th, 19th, 20th, 26th, 27th September, 3rd, 4th, 10th, 11th October).

The park generally opens from 10am each morning, with closing times varying depending on the time of year.

Zoo Days
We open Chessington Zoo and SEA LIFE centre on many weekends throughout the winter, as well as over the Christmas Break.

Can we camp at Chessington?

Organised groups of at least 80 can put up tent directly on site and camp over at Chessington.

Do you offer team building, meeting and conference facilities?

At Chessington we do offer team building activities, meeting and conference facilities, space available to hire for park events and also exclusive park buyout opportunities.

What is Chessington World of Adventures Resort?

With over 40 rides and attractions in 10 themed lands and over 1000 animals, Chessington is more than a great family day out, with so much to do it is perfect for a relaxing short break at one of our Resort Hotels.

Every theme park ticket and short break at Chessington includes:

Travelling to Chessington

Getting to Chessington is straightforward - we're 5 minutes from the M25 (junction 10).

You can use our postcode (KT9 2NE) or get a route over on Google Maps.
We have plenty of parking for just £3 per day.

We're 35 minutes from central London, so trains and buses are available to local stations.

I have an offer voucher, how can I use it?

To use a voucher please bring it with you on the day of your visit and present it when purchasing tickets. Currently vouchers can’t be used when booking in advance unless otherwise stated on your voucher.

Each voucher has specific conditions which can sometimes include restrictions on when you can visit. Please make sure you check the terms and conditions on the voucher carefully to avoid disappointment.

If you plan to use a voucher during weekends and school holidays please arrive early to make sure you can get in.

Are dogs allowed on park?

We are only able to permit registered assistance dogs to help disabled visitors.

Whilst assistance/guide dogs are welcome they will not be able to accompany guests onto any of the rides. They will be allowed as far as the loading point where they must be left with a member of the party – they must never be left unattended anywhere in the Theme Park

Unfortunately other pets will need to be looked after elsewhere - there are several kennels near to Chessington which may be able to help.

Are School Trips available?

Yes, Chessington is a great place for a school visit - we offer discounted schools tickets and educational packages tailored to the National Curriculum.

Are there discounts for youth groups?

Yes, we are happy to offer youth groups reduced entry into Chessington.  

Discounted tickets are available to groups which belong to registered organisations that aim to bring children together.  Here are some examples:

  • Rainbows, Brownies and Guides
  • Beavers, Cubs and Scouts
  • St John Ambulance
  • Boys Brigade
  • Girls Brigade
  • Marine and Sea Cadets
  • The Pony Club

Can I bring packed lunch?

Yes certainly - there is outdoor picnic areas (across the park including near Seastorm) and places to sit through the resort.

You may like to use a locker or leave lunch in your car to save carrying it with you all the time.  Lockers are available to rent for the day in Adventure pointLand of the Dragons and Wild Woods.

You are welcome to return to your car too - remember to get a hand stamp as you leave the park so that we'll let you back in.  Also the car parks are quite large, so remember to allow time for the walk!

Can you just go to Zoo not the theme park?

During the main season the Zoo and theme park are both open, and there is no way for us to restrict visitors to the just the Zoo areas.  That means all tickets include both parts, as well as our SEA LIFE centre.

We do offer Zoo only days outside of the main season during winter at a reduced cost - it's a great time to come and see the animals.

Is there a bus from the local train station?

Yes, there are regular buses from most local stations, although these are not run by us so you will need to buy tickets.

Do you offer discount for Blue Peter badge holders?

Effective 1st January 2017, Blue Peter badges are no longer accepted for entry to any Merlin Entertainments attraction. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.

What Student ID can I use?

Feeling the need for an extended revision break? Good for you.

What tickets do disabled guests need?

Guests registered as disabled are welcome to buy any of our online tickets and are eligible to bring one helper free of charge and an additional helper for a reduced rate.

On arrival please present your ticket and disabled proof to the member of staff at our turnstiles gates to receive your free helper ticket. If there are multiple disabled guests in the group then each guest is entitled to one free helper. If additional helpers are required then they can purchase tickets at a reduced rate online or on arrival.

How do I book a School Trip?

You can book a School trip through our Contact Centre.  Call 0871 282 5103 and they will be happy to help.

Explorer Car Park

Explorer Car Park is within a green belt area, which means permanent development of these acres is strictly regulated. We have improved some fields with a hard-core surface and made improvements to the drainage systems in all areas, and we have also improved pedestrian safety. All connecting roads, tracks and pathways, inspected daily, are repaired and maintained on a continual basis.

We appreciate our surfaces can be uneven in areas as part of the natural greenbelt landscape and we advise drivers to adapt driving behaviour according to conditions.

What should I wear on my day out?

Sensible clothing and footwear should be worn at all times when in and about the Park. Please note that for health and safety reasons shirts and shoes must be worn on all rides at all times.

Bubbleworks

Bubbleworks, previously Professor Burps’ Bubbleworks, has been a part of Chessington World of Adventures Resort since 1990.  As a much loved ride, Bubbleworks has created many happy memories for guests over the last 26 years. The ride has lost some of its magic and sparkle in recent years and we feel now is the time to bid farewell to the Bubbles and introduce something brand new and equally magical for families in the future.  

The last public rides on Bubbleworks were held on Tuesday 6th September 2016 and the ride is now closed.

Do you have single rider queue lines?

Single rider queue lines can save you time if you are brave enough to ride alone! We currently have a single rider queue line at Dragon's Fury in Land of the Dragons and ZUFARI: Ride into Africa!

I have a 241 voucher - how much will it cost me to enter the park and how do I redeem it?

241 vouchers mean that you get a free ticket when you buy a full price ticket. If you buy a standard full price adult ticket, you will receive either a child or adult ticket for free. If you buy a standard full price child ticket, you will receive a child ticket free.

A standard adult ticket is currently £49, and a child ticket is £45.

Unless otherwise stated on your voucher, this can only be redeemed at the entrance gate on the day of your visit, and is not valid with any other offer, on premium tickets or on free tickets. The expiry date will be listed on your voucher – after this date has passed, you will no longer be able to use this voucher.

I have a Kids Go Free voucher - how much will it cost me to enter the park and how do I redeem it?

Kids Go Free vouchers mean that you get one child ticket for free if you buy a standard full price adult ticket. A standard adult ticket is currently £49. 

Unless otherwise stated on your voucher, this can only be redeemed at the entrance gate on the day of your visit, and is not valid with any other offer, on premium tickets or on free tickets. Why is Mystic East closing? What is happening in/to the land?

Mystic East is closing from Monday September 11, so as we can start work on next year’s new and exciting adventure here at the Resort, ensuring it’s ready for you to enjoy in 2018. We will announce shortly what we have in store for next year – that’s all we can say for now! My Annual Pass has been lost/stolen, what do I do?

Oh no, sorry to hear that - don't worry, we'll get you back up and running in no time.

Please tell one of our admissions team and they will show you where to get a replacement card.  If you have ID with you then it may speed up the process, also there is a £10 re-issue fee per pass.

If it's a Merlin Annual Pass that you bought from somewhere other than Chessington, then you'll need to return to the attraction you got it from to have it re-issued.  Sorry about that, but it's out of our control unfortunately.

Adult & Pre-schooler Annual Passes

What is the difference between Premium and Standard Merlin Annual Passes?

There are two types of Merlin Annual Passes.

Premium Merlin Passes cost slightly more, but they have fewer restrictions and offer more perks than Standard Passes.

How do I upgrade my ticket to an Annual Pass

If you want to upgrade your tickets to an Annual Pass and get your entrance fee refunded, please talk to a member of staff on the day of your visit.

Do you sell season tickets?

Currently at Chessington we do not sell season tickets, but we do sell Annual Passes. Annual Passes are valid for 12 months from the issue date. To find out more please visit our Annual Pass information.

How much are tickets?

Guests under 3
Anyone under 3 years of age can visit Chessington for FREE. They do NOT need a ticket.

Looking for the cheapest price?
This year we've got a limited number of Early Bird tickets available each day. They're from just £28 per person if you book online and 5 or more days in advance.  Once they're gone, or for online bookings within 5 days, the price reverts to the standard online price of from £33 per person - so book early!

Can I cancel/move my visit date?

Our discounted dated advance booked tickets are only valid for the date you initially select. They are dated as this helps us plan for the amount of guests we expect to welcome each day. However we do understand that sometimes there are extreme circumstances this are beyond your control.

If this is the case please bring your tickets to Chessington after your initial visit date has passed and our Welcome team have the ability to move the tickets to be valid for that date. There will be a £5 fee that is in place to discourage misuse of this process.

Can I get VIP park entry?

Our Premium Ticket Package is our 'best day out' offering.  You should also check out our Xtra adventures experiences - make a great adventure even better!

The Sun FREE Ticket Promotion

The Sun Newspaper is once again offering its readers the chance to come to Chessington World of Adventures Resort for free as part of its free ticket giveaway. Here are the answers to our most frequently asked questions:

How do I apply for a pair of tickets?

You may choose from one of the following three options to apply for your two free tickets:

a. Collect 10 unique tokens from The Sun and send with your booking form
b. Collect 10 unique Sun Codes from the back page of The Sun and enter online at thesun.co.uk/Codes
c. If you are an existing Sun Perks member you can claim tickets online without collecting codes or tokens

How many times can I apply?

You can only apply for each Superdays promotion once per household and only one application method may be used. Multiple applications from the same household will ALL be cancelled.

You can apply for as many of our Superdays promotions as you desire throughout the year.

Can I select specific dates? What if I get a date where I am unavailable?

If you choose route A using tokens you will NOT be able to choose specific date. You will be required to select 5 date bands from the number provided (there are 7 available in 2017), in your order of preference and submit your application to us via post with your Stamped Addressed Envelope. Applications that do not include 5 band choices will not be processed.

If your completed application is successful, your tickets will be allocated for one specific day within your selected band dates. You will not be able to exchange your tickets or use them on any other day under any circumstance.

For all other application methods (B & C), you will be able to claim your tickets online and select your preferred date (subject to availability) online.

Tickets are subject to availability and we are therefore unable to guarantee that you will receive tickets for your first choice.

If I want to collect Sun Codes how many will I need before I can book tickets?

You will need to collect 10 Sun Codes to apply via route B. Customers using the Sun Codes route must enter their first code before the date stated in each promotion’s terms and conditions to be eligible for the 5 bonus codes. To enter codes after this date customers will need 15 unique codes.

How will I receive my tickets?

If you are collecting via route A, you can choose your preferred method of receiving tickets. Customers can receive their tickets via email or post. In the event your preferred method of receiving your tickets is unavailable we will send your tickets via the alternative route.
N.B We strongly advise customers collecting tokens to include a SAE even if your preferred method is e-ticket in the event we are unable to fulfil via e-tickets. We are unable to return unused SAE.

If you use route B or C you will receive your tickets via email only.

When will I receive my tickets?

Tickets will be dispatched or emailed, depending on the option chosen, to you within 28 days of receipt of your application.

Please do not contact the venue directly regarding ticket processing and allocation as they will be unable to help. Please email tickets@thesun.co.uk. Proof of posting is not proof of delivery.

My tickets have not arrived/have been damaged in the post, can they be replaced?

No liability will be accepted for applications or tickets lost, damaged or delayed in the post.

I didn’t use my tickets - can you send me a different date?

Neither we or the venue can take any responsibility for any unused tickets and will not, under any circumstance, re-issue tickets for an alternative date if the allocated date is missed

Are children free?

Adults are aged 12 years and above, children are aged 3-11 years at the Park. Visitors under 3 are admitted free of charge.

Is there a discount for those not going on rides?

During the Theme Park season, all Chessington tickets allow entry to our Theme Park rides and attractions, our Zoo and SEA LIFE centre with over 1000 animals and all our daily shows including Penguins of Madagascar LIVE! Operation: Cheezy Dibbles

Even if you choose not to experience our rides there is still a lot to see and do so, there is no additional discount available.

What age do you have to start paying for children?

The break between adult/child pricing (12yrs) reflects the age - and assumed average height for that age - at which our research shows visitors will get the most out of their visit.  

Anyone under 3 years of age doesn't require a ticket and will be admitted to the park free of charge.  This reflects the height at which children, on average, are tall enough to use a high percentage of the rides at the Theme Park and therefore enjoy it equally with older guests.  Adventurers over 0.9m in height are able to experience over 70% of our rides.

There's still plenty to explore for smaller adventurers - you should start by looking at our Zoo and SEA LIFE centre.

What is Fastrack?

Fastrack tickets are an optional extra which you can buy to save time queuing on some of our most popular rides.

You'll be able to beat the queue through dedicated Fastrack entrances.

Limited quantities are available, so be sure to pick them up at an Xtra Adventures kiosk when you arrive, or buy them online if you're visiting during a busier period.

What are the prices when using a voucher?

Vouchers are only valid against our full paying rates that are currently: Adventurers (Adult - 12 and over) £49 and Young Adventurers (Child - 3  - 11 years) £45.

What is included in our Premium Ticket Package?

Premium Ticket Package include the following:

  • An Open-dated ticket – giving you the freedom to change the day you plan to visit.
  • 1 Fastrack one shot ride entry – fastrack entry to one ride e.g. Vampire, Dragon Falls or ZUFARI: Ride Into Africa.
  • Meal Deal – our Standard Meal Deal including a regular meal with soft drink.
  • £5 spending money – that can be used in our retail outlets.

Why aren't there child, senior concessions or student rates any more?

We have worked hard to simplify our entry ticket prices for all guests, and have switched to a great value per person ticketing system.

  • Our Earlybird Tickets are actually cheaper than the concessions for seniors and students last year
  • Children under 3 years of age don't need a ticket at all
  • Disabled users can bring a free helper with them, and a second helper at a concessionary rate

Our pricing for the above mentioned guests reflects the fact that they are able to experience most of the rides and attractions and can therefore enjoy it equally with other guests.

On-the-day prices are higher, so it's best to book online to confirm entry and get our best price.

What is the £28 Early Bird online saver ticket?

This is our best value ticket for adults, children, seniors, students and disabled visitors. It is one flat price of £28 per person, no matter what type of visitor you are. 

How to book Early Bird Tickets from £28.
There is a limited quantity of £28 tickets available for each day that the park is open. Use our price & availability checker to see if saver tickets are available for when you are planning to visit.  

You will need to book before they run out - it's best to book early for busy periods or try and visit on a quieter day. If they run out, or the date is in less than 5 days time, the price switches to the standard online price of from £33 per person.  

Tickets are more expensive on the day - a full adult ticket is £49. This is because it saves us time if you book online and print your own tickets to bring - it saves you time too, as you'll have a much shorter queue at the entrance.

Is there a reduced price to return the next day?

Yes, and there are two options available. If you know the dates you want to visit then you can purchase a 2 day Early Bird ticket on our website from £35.

Alternatively if you would prefer to make a decision on the day, you can buy a Bounceback ticket from any Admissions kiosk on the day of your visit for just £7 per person. The Bounceback ticket must be used on the following day. Please note that this ticket must be purchased on the day of your first visit and you must present a valid entry ticket for the day of your first visit in order to redeem.

Can I use my Nectar points?

Yes, you can swipe your Nectar card at Chessington World of Adventures Resort for instant payment of entry into the park.

The amount of points required may vary, therefore please check with Nectar before your trip to ensure you have the correct amount for your visit.

Can I use Tesco Clubcard points?

Yes, you will need to exchange your Clubcard points for Chessington tickets and bring the voucher with you to enter. Please be sure to double check the validity dates and any entry restrictions before you visit.

I work for ___, how do I claim my corporate discount?

If you work for a company that offer corporate discounts to Chessington please pre book your tickets via the Merlin Contact Centre booking line - 0871 222 4001. Please note you will need to quote your specific company code in order to obtain your company discount.

As we work with benefit providers who in turn may work with your company, we cannot confirm if your company is part of the scheme. To check if you are eligible for a discount please contact your company HR or staff benefits department.

How do I redeem my Kellogg's Grown Ups Go Free offer online?

Merlinfun.com is the official place to redeem your Kellogg's Grown Ups Go Free offer online. You will need your 10 digit offer code to hand when redeeming - you can only find this inside special promotional packs of Kellogg's cereal.

How do I return to my ticket or Annual Pass online basket?

To return to your online basket please visit our secure booking engine. If your basket does not appear on the right please restart your booking.

Is there Express Parking?

Yes, there is.

Express Parking is available on selected dates from 18th March 2017

Our Express Parking (located at the Lodge Gate entrance) enables you to benefit from easy entry and exit from the Resort. Express Parking also offers you the option to gurantee parking on hard standing. Express parking costs £10 per car and can be pre booked online or paid on the day at the staffed entrance.

10% of every car parking fee will be donated to the Chessington Conservation Fund which will help to protect the future of nature and wildlife through conservation work and education at Chessington Zoo, in the local community and worldwide.

Swimming Pool and Gym

Our 15 metre swimming pool is the ideal place to relax after a hard work out or to come and have fun with the family. The fully air conditioned gym has a good selection of Techogym equipment.

The Gym is just for use by persons aged 16 and over. Please wear appropriate gym attire and footwear and leave a few minutes extra to fill out a Physical Activity Readiness Questionnaire form.

Where can I keep my luggage?

If you are arriving in our hotels before your check-in you can leave your luggage free of charge in our Hotel and enjoy your adventure. For smaller luggage which you´d wish to bring to our park we provide lockers (fees apply).

What is Glamping Exclusive Fastrack?

Glamping Exclusive Fastrack is available to those staying at Chessington Explorer Glamping and allows those people Fastrack entry to all available rides for the first hour of the day (between 10-11am).

Wristbands will be issued on arrival at Reception and must be worn to receive this benefit. Rides are subject to availability and guests must enter the Fastrack queue line before 11am; unfortunately, late arrivals will not be given access. Glamping Exclusive Fastrack for the first hour of the day is only available on Saturdays, Sundays and throughout school holidays. Please note access is available to all rides with a Fastrack entrance with the exception of Vampire, Dragon's Fury and The Gruffalo River Ride Adventure, and it is recommended guests visit a combination of rides to make the most of this benefit.

Can I book a hotel room without park entry?

Yes, even though all of the short break packages include park tickets, we also offer great room only rates via our call centre, please call 0871 221 3970.

What is Early Ride Time?

Early Ride Time is available for those staying at either the Chessington Safari Hotel or the Chessington Azteca Hotel, and for 2017 will include Vampire, the new Gruffalo River Ride adventure and more!

As an overnight guest at Chessington, you will receive Early Ride Time between 9am and 10am on days that the Theme Park is open from 19th March 2017 to 31st October 2017. Wristbands will be issued on arrival at Reception and must be worn to receive this benefit. Rides are subject to availability.

On the day

Can I return to my car during a visit?

Yes definitely, just be sure to get your hand stamped as you exit the park, then the team will know to let you back in.

Do you have to pay for anything in the resort?

Every ticket to Chessington includes:

  • Theme Park (which includes the rides)
  • Zoo
  • SEA LIFE centre
  • Live Shows & Events

There are a variety of added extras like Fastrack, arcades and other games/stalls which you would need to pay for.  Food is also extra, but there are lots of offers available.  Parking is also extra - see the Travel Details page for information.

Do you offer ride photos?

On the day of your visit you can purchase ride photos as you exit certain rides. Please see our park map for a list of rides that offer ride photos.

You can also capture all your digital photos from your day with a Digipass.

Each night photos are removed from the system, so if you have not purchased photos on the day they cannot be retrieved.

Is Kosher food available?

Currently we do not offer Kosher food, but there are many places to enjoy a picnic, so you are welcome to bring a packed lunch.

How short are the queues today?

Our ride teams do all they can to keep the queues down.  You may like to look at our Fastrack tickets to reduce waiting time on busier days.

Is Halal meat available?

Currently we do not offer Halal food, but you are welcome to enjoy the vegetarian alternatives.  There are many places to enjoy a picnic too, so you are welcome to bring a packed lunch.

What time do the rides close?

Our ride queue lines close at different times during the theme park season. If you are in the queue line at our closing time you are able to ride. To check closing times please view our opening times page.

Are lockers available?

Yes, lockers can be found at Adventure Point, Land of the Dragons and Wild Woods.

There is a charge to use lockers, small lockers are £1 per hour or £5 all day and large lockers are £2 per hour or £10 all day.  You can return to your locker as many times as you like within your hire period without incurring any extra charges.

Lockers are limited so be sure to get yours before you begin your wild adventure.  

Can I hire a buggy or pushchair?

Yes, buggies can be hired from Adventure Point Gift Shop.

There is a small hire charge of £8 for a single and £10 for a double buggy.  We'd recommend arriving early if you are planning to hire a buggy on busier days, as we only have room to keep a limited quantity!

Can I smoke at Chessington?

Yes, there are designated smoking areas spread through the park.

Please view the Park Map for further details.

Smoking is NOT allowed outside of these areas, particularly in ride queue lines.

Can I wear animal print clothing to the park?

A temporary ban on guests wearing animal print clothing on ‘ZUFARI: Ride into Africa’ was put in place in 2013 to allow for a programme of desensitisation for some of the attraction’s new arrivals - the giraffe and rhino!

The temporary ban has now been lifted so anyone wanting to wear their favourite animal print outfit when visiting Chessington can do so!  

How about breaking out the tiger-print onesie?

Does Chessington offer a ‘Parent Swap Pass’?

Yes – parents can still enjoy the bigger height restricted rides when visiting with toddlers, and you only have to queue once!

Head over to Guest Help and Information in Adventure Point to collect a free Parent Swap Pass.  Once one parent has enjoyed the ride, tell the ride staff and the second parent can come through the ride exit to get on nice and quickly.

Is there a charge for parking?

Yes, there is a small daily charge of £3 per car for adventurers, including disabled parking.

You can pre book parking online and save time on the day. Otherwise just buy a ticket on the day. 

Please bear in mind that the Explorer Car Park is within a green belt area, so we need to work within confines of strict environmental regulations. We are using the car parking charges to improved the surface and drainage systems, as well as to improve pedestrian safety. All connecting roads, tracks and pathways, inspected daily, are repaired and maintained on a continual basis.

We appreciate our surfaces can be uneven in areas as part of the natural greenbelt landscape and we advise drivers to adapt driving behaviour according to conditions.

10% of every car parking fee will be donated to the Chessington Conservation Fund which will help to protect the future of nature and wildlife through conservation work and education at Chessington Zoo, in the local community and worldwide.

Lost property

Please hand in any lost property to Adventurers' Services in Adventure Point.

If you lose something yourself then the team there will be able to help you on the day.

Alternatively you can submit lost property requests using our contact form if you only realise after you left the park.

What is there to do in bad weather?

We have lots of indoor activities so there is still plenty to do when the weather takes a turn for the worst.

Adventurers can visit our SEA LIFE centre full of fun and interactive exhibitions, or explore Trail of the Kings and marvel at our Western Lowland Gorillas and Sumatran Tigers.

Chessington also has a whole host of indoor rides and attractions. Join Mouse on a magical journey on the NEW! The Gruffalo River Ride Adventure or, armed with a laser gun, ride through the Ancient Egyptian labyrinth on Tomb Blaster. Visit Hocus Pocus Hall and expect the unexpected on a mysterious 4-D experience, or unwind with a cup of coffee while your little ones explore Dragon’s Playhouse, Chessington’s huge soft play centre.

What is the Rainy Day Guarantee and how can I use it?

Our Rainy Day Guarantee is here to help make sure you get a great day out, even if the weather isn't too good.

When you book tickets online for a specific visit date in the season, if it rains for one hour or more, we will guarantee you a FREE like for like return visit later in the year.  This does not apply to Open Dated Tickets (i.e. tickets which aren't restricted to a specific day) as you already have the flexibility to come on a day where the weather is better.

What services do you offer for parents with small children?

We try to do everything we can to make your day out great -

Child safety wristbands:
Place your phone number inside a special wristband so we can contact you if your group gets separated. These bands are available from Guest Help and Information.

Parent Swap:
Parents can still enjoy the height restricted rides when visiting with toddlers, and you only have to queue once. After swapping over the second rider gains entry via the ride exit. This service is available from Guest Help and Information.

Notice for Parents and Guardians: 
Please do not leave your child unattended while experiencing our rides as we are unable to look after them whilst you do this. If you have a particular probelm with this advice, please talk to a member of our team.

Baby Changing Facilities:
Baby changing facilities can be found at Lodge Gate, Adventure Point & Wild Woods. A nappy & two wipes are available for £1.50. Please see the park map for locations.

Microwaves & Baby Food:
Microwaves are available in Adventurers' Chicken Shack, Original Sandwich Co., Zafari Bar & Grill, Temple Restaurant & Bar and Adventure Point Pizza Pasta, baby food can also be purchased from Adventure Point Pizza Pasta.

When do the shops close?

The main Chessington Shop closes approximately 30 minutes after the advertised ride closing time.  Shops attached to rides close when the ride closes at the end of the day,

We have a regularly stocked cash machine onsite. Find it in Adventure Point near Guest Help & Information.

Is free Wifi available at Chessington?

Yes, your Chessington ticket includes free WiFi from The Cloud.

It is available almost everywhere except the Zoo. Simply select the network labelled The Cloud from your device.

Hint: Once you are connected use Today@Chessington.com to see upcoming shows times, q-times and on-the-day offers.

How do I collect Chessington pop badges?

  • Free badges will be available in children’s meals in our restaurants throughout the Resort.
  • If it is your Birthday. Venture to Guest Help and Information for an exclusive birthday badge.
  • You can also swap your badges with one of our friendly staff members if you see a badge that you would prefer, happy swapping!

Can I bring a scooter?

No, for health and safety reasons (due to the topographical features of the Resort), wheelchairs and mobility scooters are the only transport devices permitted within the Resort.

Can I hire a wheelchair at Chessington?

Wheelchair hire is available from Adventure Point Gift Shop and is charged at £10 per day plus a £50 fully refundable pre-authorisation on a credit or debit card. Registered disabled guests with documented proof may hire a wheelchair free of charge but a £50 pre-authorisation will still apply - please speak to a member of staff on your visit for more information.

The number of wheelchairs we hold is limited, and we cannot guarantee their availability. Please note wheelchair loss or damage may result in a charge. Failure to return the wheelchair will result in a charge of £185.

Do you sell alcohol?

Alcoholic beverages are available from Smokehouse BBQ, located in Adventure Point. We also sell alocholic beverages in our two Hotel restaurants, Zafari Bar and Grill and Temple Restaurant and Bar.

Is vegetarian food available?

Yes, our restaurants and snack outlets offer a range of vegetarian and healthy eating options.

What facilities are available for disabled guests?

Guest Help and Information is located in Adventure Point and should be your first port of call when you arrive to the park. The Guest Help and Information team can offer advice on ride access and restrictions, issue ride access wristbands and passes (conditions apply) and provide further information on facilities for adventurers with a disability.

Along with multiple disable toilets throughout the park, there is a Disabled Changing Places toilet located in Wild Woods including a height adjustable changing bench, shower, toilet and a hoist. To access please use a RADAR key, or speak to a member of staff.

We offer complimentary wheelchair hire (£10 refundable deposit required) is available for registered disabled visitors, but please note that availability cannot be guaranteed.

Where can I see food allergy information?

Each of our Food and Beverage units have a special allergy board that will inform you if any dietary requirements you may have are met within certain meals. Information on gluten-free products are displayed on our food maps located around the park.

Do you conduct bag searches?

As part of our security procedures, we conduct bag searches at our entrances.

We recommend bringing the bare minimum with you to ensure that any search can be done as smoothly and quickly as possible. Also, to avoid queuing at our busiest times, if you don’t need your bag until later in the day, consider leaving this securely in your vehicle, which you can return to, to collect your bag whenever needed.

Can I pre-purchase Fastrack?

Yes, you can pre-purchase Fastrack tickets online with your entrance tickets.

This is a good idea on busier days, as it guarantees your Fastrack tickets.  Quantities on the day are limited.

Can someone collect/use tickets I have bought for them with my credit/debit card?

Yes, just make sure they bring a short note (example below) to explain you are happy for them to pick up/use the tickets on your behalf.

  1. Wait a few minutes (if you haven't already). 
  2. Check your spam filter (sometimes they get stuck there).

I have not received my print at home tickets

Oh no, we are sorry for the hassle.

There are rare occasions when the follow up Print@Home tickets email is not received. It could be that the email has been blocked by your Internet Security, Company Firewall or it has been delivered to your SPAM folder.

If you have your order reference number you can still collect your tickets on the day at the Ticket Collection Desk.  Alternatively if you have at least 7-days before the date of your visit please contact 03333 212001 and a member of the team will arrange to have your tickets posted to you.

My tickets haven't arrived through the post

We're sorry to hear that.  In this situation it's best to call our team to confirm your booking was successful.  Please have the reference number from your confirmation email to hand to save time.

What attractions can I ride if I have an injury in a cast, air boot or splint etc.?

Unfortunately as a health & safety requirement adventurers with a cast, air boot or splint will be unable to experience some of our attractions. See full details.

What rides are suitable for people with disabilities?

We aim to make our rides and attractions accessible to as many people as possible.

Disabled visitors are welcome to bring one helper for free, with additional helpers able to buy tickets at a discounted rate.

Are all of the rides open?

With over 40 attractions, a thousand animals, and a huge investment plan - we do our best to keep all of the rides open but occasionally we are unable to. 

You can see an indication of the current ride status on the Today@Chessington page.

What time do the rides open?

During the main season, we aim to open all of the rides at the same time as the park (generally at 10am).  

There may be occasions when certain rides are unavailable - of course we try and keep this to a minimum and endeavour to update the park status page as often as possible.

The entrances to ride queue lines close at the same time as the park closes, but the ride will keep running until the queue is cleared (subject to availability).

Scorpion Express

Scorpion Express is set deep in the heart of Mexicana's Scorpion Valley.  Journey into a land of sweeping sands and gold mines and jump aboard this fun family ride.

Are there any age restrictions?

Good question!

Generally rides and attractions are only restricted by height (and availability of course).  Often smaller children must be accompanied by an adult (over 16 years old) - you can check the details for each ride on our Full Ride List page.

Bear in mind that on some of our smaller rides and activities for children, adults are only allowed if they are accompanying a child.  This is also shown on relevant rides on the Full Ride List page.

No child or children under the age of 12 will be admitted to the Attraction unless they are accompanied by an adult aged 18 years or over. Admission is governed by the park rules and can be found in our T&C's

Parents and guardians: please do not leave your child unattended while experiencing our rides as we are unable to look after them whilst you do this. If you have a particular problem with this advice, please talk to a member of our team.

Can I enjoy the attractions if I'm pregnant?

Britain’s Wildest Adventure is a great environment for everyone to enjoy with our Zoo, SEA LIFE centre and spacious grounds for you to walk around and just take in the atmosphere.

We would ask that if you are pregnant that you take note of the signage at individual rides before deciding to board and consider your own health and medical advice before partaking in any rides and attractions.

We wish you well with your new very young Adventurer!

What are the height restrictions for the rides?

Each ride has its own height restriction ranging from 0.9m to 1.4m minimum. See all theme park ride height restrictions.

Some rides need smaller Adventurers to be accompanied by an adult.

What rides can my preschool child experience?

Chessington is ideal for young children - they will love our famous Zoo and SEA LIFE centre.  Plenty of rides suitable for preschool children.

Will the rides work in the rain/bad weather?

Our rides are all designed to run in the rain, but sometimes they will need to close depending on the severity of the conditions.  High winds or low visibility are more likely to cause ride closures, but we will post updates on queue boards in the park.

Remember that all rides are subject to availability on any day of your visit, but we do all we can to keep them open.

Take a look at our Rainy Day Guarantee if you're worried about booking in advance because of the weather.  All our dated online tickets are covered, and it means if there's over an hour of rain then we'll give you a free return visit later in the year.

Which rides can I go on if I have a torso measurement of 51” or more?

As you would expect, all guests must be fully strapped in on all of our rides. Similar to smaller guests being subject to height restrictions, larger Adventurers are recommended to follow this advice.

If your torso is approaching 51 inches or more you may be unable to ride the following rides.  This is because tight shoulder and lap bar restraints need to be in place for health & safety reasons.

  • Jungle Bus
  • KOBRA
  • Vampire

If your torso is approaching 45 inches, you may not be able to ride Monkey Swinger.

Vampire, Dragon’s Fury and Rameses Revenge also have a maximum height restriction of approximately 1.95 metres.

Please be aware that all of our rides and attractions have different restrictions and requirements, with some having more generous shoulder and lap restraints which are suitable for most Adventurers. Safari Skyway

Safari Skyway has been a firm favourite for many years and in fact was one of the original rides at Chessington World of Adventures Resort as it opened as a Theme Park back in 1987. As a result of ongoing maintenance issues, the decision has been made to retire Safari Skyway from the Chessington ride offering.  This was a difficult decision to make as we know the ride has been a firm favourite amongst our Adventurers over the years however with exciting new shows and attractions planned for the 2017 season and beyond, we’re committed to ensuring the continued development of the Resort.

Rameses Revenge

Rameses Revenge is a fantastic ride at Chessington World of Adventures Resort and, during peak season, provides Adventurers with the ultimate theme park thrill.  Due to the very nature of the ride, Rameses Revenge tends to be favoured by guests visiting us during the peak season and as such the decision was made to only open this ride during peak dates during the 2017 season.  With over 39 other rides and attractions, a Zoo and SEA LIFE centre plus new shows and events for 2017, including a UK first with our new interactive live show – Pandamonium - there is too much to do in one day at Chessington!

The Chessington Conservation Fund
This charity has been set up by Chessington Zoo to raise awareness of environmental issues both in the local area and worldwide.

Merlin's Magic Wand
Merlin's Magic Wand is our chosen children's charity.  It was set up in 2008 and aims to bring happiness to disadvantaged children with amazing days out.  Since it was set up, over 110,000 children and their families have benefitted.

Schools Partnership Scheme
This is a scheme to allow PTA's at local schools to fundraise by working with us to promote Chessington.

How do I complain?

We want everyone to have an amazing adventure and we aim to get it right every time you visit. But we know that very occasionally things don't go as planned and adventures don't live up to expectations.

We aim to sort out any issues during your visit, but if that didn't happen for you (and we're really sorry if that's the case), the please get in touch.

Please ensure that you contact us within six weeks of your visit and be sure to keep proof of your visit, such as your tickets or a valid receipt, in case this is needed.

There are occasions when we receive an exceptionally high volume of communication. Our aim is to respond within 10 working days for letters; five working days for emails and within 24 hours if you phone us.

If we have still not resolved the issue at this stage, please let us know. We will refer it senior management here at Chessington World of Adventures and we will also liaise with Merlin Entertainments Group Head Office on your behalf to ensure a satisfactory outcome for you.

Can I do Work Experience at Chessington?

Unfortunately, work experience is not available at Chessington. However, we encourage people to apply for jobs once you receive your National Insurance Number.
