Behind the Scenes Animal Tour

Are you brave enough to feed lions or tigers? Then get ready for the adventure of a lifetime! Go behind the scenes and brace yourself for an animal encounter like never before. Feed the lions or tigers, meet our personality filled sealions, feed our adorable penguins and brave the waters of the shark tank as you feed the sharks! Have a Really Wild Birthday Party at Chessington World of Adventures Resort.

The kids (and the adults) are going to have a roaringly good time with this exciting Really Wild Birthday Party package. We’ve taken care of everything, so all you need to do is have fun.

Zoo Keepers will be on hand to answer any questions and allow children some special time to interact with the animals and learn some fun and fascinating facts.

• Hire of private area in the park for two hours, 11am to 1pm, for up to 25 children (under 12) and 10 adults.
• Animal meet 'n' greets with a selection of up to four animals; Rhino Iguana, Cockroaches, Giant African Land Snails, Congo Millipedes, Royal Pythons, Corn Snakes, Rats, Skunks, Ferrets, Meerkats, Rabbits, Chickens, Guinea Pigs, Goats, Kookaburra, Macaws and Amazon Parrots. How you can help?

Adopt an animal for yourself or as an exciting gift for friends and family and as the happy adoptee you will receive a gift box and invitation to visit your new friend to say 'Hello' during one of our Chessington Zoo Days.*

As a thank you for the donation the adoptees name will also be proudly displayed on a special plaque outside the animal's enclosure until the end of the adoption period.

This memorable gift will include:

• A gift box containing a soft toy of your adopted animal
• A certificate of adoption including a cute photo of your chosen animal
• A registration letter to confirm your 1 year adoption
• A fun fact sheet all about your chosen animal

Zoo Keeper for a Day

Do you know someone who’s really wild about animals – maybe even you? If so welcome to the ultimate animal experience at Chessington World of Adventures Resort – Zoo Keeper for a Day.

On arrival you’ll meet up with one of our professional Zoo Keepers, who’ll be your guide and buddy as they go about their daily tasks. He or she will introduce you to your chosen animals and get you involved with hands-on tasks like animal care and welfare, food preparation and keeping their enclosures spic and span.

It’s a wonderful way to get up close and gain a real insight into some of the world’s most fascinating animals. You’ll go away with great memories along with a souvenir ‘Keeper for a Day’ t-shirt and a certificate to frame. What will you choose?

NEW – Wanyama Zoo Keeper for a Day

This truly memorable and individual, experience puts you at the heart of our Wanyama Village & Reserve, home to our Grevy Zebra, Ostrich, Oryx and Sitatunga.

You’ll have around five hours in Wanyama’s African safari-inspired setting with an hour’s break – so do bring a packed lunch with you. To ensure your day is as personalised as possible, this experience is for just one adventurer. But if friends or family want to come along, they can relax in the Chessington Resort Hotel.

Price: £135 per person

All day Zoo Keeper experience

This is a whole day – eight hour – experience and to ensure it’s tailor-made for you and your interests, you can choose which Zoo department and animals you’d like to get involved with. You could spend all day working in one department or split the day between two areas of interest. Either way, bring a packed lunch to enjoy during your hour’s break. Here are the choices:

Big Cats Keeper for a Day – Take a walk along Chessington’s Trail of the Kings, where you’ll get to work alongside our Sumatran Tigers, Persian Leopards and Asiatic Lions. An awesome experience.

Price: £200 per person

Birds & Primates Keeper for a Day – Get up close and personal with our Lemurs and Monkey families and spend some time caring for our colourful collection of birds, from the largest bird – the Andean Condor – to the impressive Mollucan Cockatoos.

Price: £165 per person

SEALIFE centre and Reptiles Keeper for a Day – Go behind the scenes and work with our aquarists alongside sharks, rays and tropical fish as well as venturing into the Creepy Caves housing a large variety of reptiles and amphibians.

Price: £165 per person

Animal Trainer for a Day – Here’s your chance to join our professional trainers as they work their magic with Sea Lions, Birds and furry mammals.

Price: £165 per person

Chessington’s Junior Zoo Keeper experience (7 to 16 years)

Here’s a wonderful experience for younger adventurers that will give a first taste of the day-to-day work of our Zoo Keepers. You’ll get to work in the Children’s Zoo and Wanyama Village, meeting our Skunks, Goats, Sheep, Ferrets, Capybaras, Meerkats and many more animals. Get to know them and learn all about their care and feeding.

Your four hour adventure runs from 10am till 2pm. You don’t have to be accompanied by an adult, but if you’d prefer to be, one adult may join you. Alternatively, they can relax at Chessington Resort Hotel while they wait.

Price: £145 per person

Special Offer – book two young adventurers at the same time to be Zoo Keepers on the same day for only £250* saving you £40.

*The maximum number of young adventurers for each experience is two. If only one young adventurer is booked, he or she may be joined by another one.
