Zoo Keeper for a Day
If you or someone you know is an animal lover then this is not to be missed! Accompanied by one of our expert Zoo keepers, your keeper for a day tasks will vary from cleaning the enclosures, animal husbandry and preparing their food.
Zoo Keeper for a Day - Adult
This is a whole day experience and there are various animals and departments for you to work in, including:
- Birds - Spend a day caring for our varied colourful collection of birds, from the largest bird, the Andean Condor to the impressive Mollucan Cockatoos.
- Gorillas - Enjoy the company of one of the best breeding groups in Europe by getting to know these inspiring animals
Please note that the Gorillas section will be unavailable for Zoo Keeper experiences until the end of July 2008.
- Presentations - Do you fancy being an animal trainer? Learn alongside the professionals as they train Sealions, Birds and furry Mammals.
- Primates - Get up close and personal with our Lemurs and Monkey families.
- Cats - Take a walk along our Trail of the Kings and get up close to the Sumatran Tigers, Leopards and Lions. Work alongside the BIG cats… if you dare!
- Children’s Zoo & Creature Features - Skunks, Wallabies, Meerkats and much, much more. Get to know our more approachable animals as you learn all about their husbandry and feeding.
- Creepy Caves - Fancy meeting a 13 foot snake, work alongside Jade, our Burmese Rock Python and other fascinating Reptiles.
This experience encompasses the work that our experienced and skilled Zoo Keepers do on a day-to-day basis here at Chessington World of Adventures & Zoo. The day’s package can be divided into two sections of your choice or the whole day can be concentrated around your preferred department. There will be an hour break, please bring a packed lunch with you.
Guests who book this experience will also receive a Keeper for the Day t-shirt and a souvenir certificate to take home with them.

Zoo Keeper for a Day - Child
This is a 4 hour experience between 8:30am and 2pm and will consist of working in the below areas.
- Children’s Zoo & Creature Features - Skunks, Wallabies, Goats, Sheep, Ferrets, Capybaras, Meerkats and much, much more. Get to know our more approachable animals as you learn all about their husbandry and feeding.
This amazing experience encompasses the work that our experienced and skilled Zoo Keepers do on a day-to-day basis here at Chessington World of Adventures & Zoo. The 4 hour experience runs from 9:00am to 1:00pm, 9:30am to 1:30pm or 10:00am till 2:00pm, and can be taken anytime during the 2008 season. Children do not have to be accompanied by an adult however one adult is entitled to watch, or can wait in the Holiday Inn Chessington located next to the Park.
Guests who book this experience will receive a souvenir certificate to take home with them.
Please note that participants must be aged between 7 and 16 years of age.
This experience is in high demand, and as such there is limited availability during the school summer holidays and no weekends are available until October 2008.
