Overview
Now you can come face to face with the Sealions and watch them splashing around underwater at Chessington World of Adventures.
Autoglass® (www.autoglass.co.uk) have kindly donated glass for the new viewing windows, so now the Sealions' playful underwater antics can be viewed before your very eyes.
Be sure to venture down to Sealion Bay and take a look for yourself.
Meet the Family
The 2 boys have been under a brand new training regime, and they are dying to show off their talents to you! Look out for star of the show – Harley and our young troublemaker Dante!
Come down and watch the amazing Californian Sealions and the Animal Trainers in a fun show at Sealion Bay, everyday at midday and 3pm.
Harley (Aged 13) Clown of Sealion Bay
Harley, the main star of the show, is a right show-off always looking for attention - a typical teenager! He enjoys playing with the younger sealions, but also enjoys swimming & spending time with his dad Boris. Harley weighs in at 150kg (the second largest sealion at Chessington Zoo) and watch out because he loves to splash the audience during the show!
Dante (Aged 2) Greased Lightening
Dante is by far the quickest sealion we have ever met - he bounces all over the place at 100mph giving others the swim around and biting their flippers. Dante is Boris's 40th and final pup, and the name Dante means "Enduring" because Boris' legacy is lasting and continues through his pups. Dante has been in training for just over a year now, and is now an important part of the new show!
Boris - Legend of Sealion Bay
Sadly Boris, the beloved Californian Sealion died at the age of 28.
Boris was a whopping 100 in human years and lived beyond the typical Sealion lifespan of 15-25 years. Boris was by far one of the most amazing animals to live at Chessington Zoo, and was a record breaker by being the oldest breeding bull in Europe. Boris resided at his poolside retreat for over 2 decades, and along the way fathered an incredible 40 pups.
